As a child, I was always fascinated with storytelling. I grew up watching The Young and the Restless with my dad and Desperate Housewives with my mom. My sister shared her love of reading with me and I have fond memories of going to Borders for the midnight releases of the latest Harry Potter book. These experiences shaped my understanding of story and structure, something that as I began to write my own stories, proved to be a valuable asset.
My plays deal with ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. They explore the intersections of faith and identity. I'm concerned with nuance.
I would say my writing is most influenced by the works of Quiara Alegria Hudes, Tony Kushner, and Tennessee Williams.
My plays have received productions and developmental readings at Harrisburg Area Community College, Mountain View Middle School, and Penn State University.
